Makeup Breakdown - Model Makeup Sahar

This is a sequel of my post on Model Makeup Beauty Look on Sahar which you can read here. It was such fun to with photographer Bhawana Verma and model Sahar El Maataoui and we got some amazing pictures out of the venture.

I wanted to do a soft metallic look which is effortless, a bit supernatural looking and which embraced the delicate features of beautiful Sahar. This makeup is something everyone of every skin color and skin type can do and still achieve a fabulous complexion and of course a lot of compliments too!! One should take this look as a template and modify it according to their own needs....its a universal makeup look and one can easily do this without much of a hassle.

So lets see how I achieved this look,,,,,,,,,,,,,

• With baby wiped I cleansed Sahar's face and applied a dollop of Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion to create a soft glowing base. Its like marinating the skin with moisture and prepping it to receive the products better. When applied with finger tips, it also helps facilitate lymphatic drainage and improve the blood circulation, thus making the skin warmer and much more conducive to help melt the foundation and other products on the skin effortlessly.
• After priming the skin, I mixed Guerlain's Parure Aqua foundation which is very healthy looking and moisturizing with Oriflame's The One foundation which has a subtle glowing and radiant effect on the face. Since Sahar had dry skin, these foundations were the best choice to keep her skin hydrated and demi matte.
• I used the long lasting Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer under the eyes so that nothing moves and then corrected the under eyes and rest of the face with the Ultra foundation palette from Kryolan. The shades are olive-beige toned and really flattering on many skin tones including Sahar's which is a golden fairy honey tone, thanks to her Moroccan roots and Argan....
• I set her makeup with MAC Pro Setting powder in Light Yellow. This is to achieve a very natural skin tone and not looking heavy on the skin. Then I contoured her face, ever so delicately with MAC blush in Emote and highlighted with the famous MAC Soft and Gentle highlighter. This highlighter imparts a healthy glow to the skin and looks very natural and glowing. The Calvin Klein Foolish blush adds a neutral pinkish peachish brown flush to the cheeks which could mimic a healthy skin or a sunkissed glow depending on the amount of product used.
• For eyes, I always prep the eyes with some kind of eyeshadow primer. This time I chose Urban Decay Primer Potion as it helps the eyeshadows adhere better. To create opacity on the lids and so that the eye lids look corrected with any darkness and broken veins, I used MAC Pro Paint Pot in Layin' Low which is a peachy nude and almost a skin color for many of them. 
• Then with a damp flat eyeshadow brush, I did a wash of MAC Rose Gold metallic pigment on the entire eye lid just upto the crease and also applied in the inner corners and a thin line on the lower lids too. The Kryolan flat filbert brushes are amazing for all this work. 
• Then I used MAC Powder eyeshadow singles like All that glitters in the inner corners and as a brow highlight, Soft brown in the crease to blend in the rose gold and create a transition color. Then used Smut on the outer corners of upper and lower lids and on the outer crease.
• I love my Miss Claire One Stroke Gel pencil liner. I dotted it between the lashes to create an illusion of fuller lashes and also tight lined in the upper lash line. To create those beautiful looking peepers and for the wide eyed look I used Maybelline Eye pencil in shimmery beige (I think it was a limited edition). 
• Then I curled the lashes with MAC Eye lash curler and applied 2-3 coats of Yves Rocher Lash Plumping Mascara in Black. I love the glossy black lashes and it does a fabulous job.
• Then I spritzed MAC Fix Plus spray to create a dewy glow.
• For the lips, nudes are the best choices and peachy nudes do the best justice. To create a perfected lip, its all about layering the products strategically and in really thin layers. I mixed up MAC Lipsticks in Velvet Teddy and Kinda Sexy on my both the sides of my lip brush and applied it to previously balmed lips to create a nude effect. Then lined the lips and created boundaries as well as reshaped them with Bourjois' lipliner in Enjoleuse. A touch of Elizabeth Arden Beautiful lipgloss in Dulce finished the look. 

Its just a simple and easy beauty look which perfect for all occasions where you need to look picture perfect. The secret to a good makeup is not only the products used but also how blended and precisely they have been applied. And less is not always more. Sometime more is good as it makes you look less effortless.
