Gris Fume

I have been owning this Lancome eyeshadow palette for the longest and somehow I never did a look with it until recently. They are very beautiful and can create some mesmerizing looks when used wet or dry. This palette Gris fume is one of the bedazzling evening palettes that can be used to create beautiful eye makeup looks. The best part is that Lancome makes the application sound and look incredibly easy by suggesting their application methods (which I didn't really follow).

'Gris Fume' translates as grey smoke and there is something unusually mysterious and divine aboue grey and silver eyeshadows (If you know my love for Artemis, the moon goddess). This is the most underrated color of the beauty world and has to be tackled really well as it may go wrong. The Gris Fume Palette seems to have a grey with a tinge of blue to create that brightening effect on eyes. Paired with smokey blacks and an intense eye liner pencil, this look is one of those all occasion looks and would definitely be a head turner.

So lets have a look.............................

Prep the skin with your favorite primer like Chanel Base Lumiere and add on some uniformity and flawlessness with a Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and a touch of concealing with Becca Stick Foundation. Set it all with a pressed powder like Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte in Preface.

And then begin with the eye makeup.

Conceal the under eyes with Becca Stick Foundation in Mallow to bid adieu to dark circles and reveal a well slept well hydrated complexion. This stick foundation is really light weight and amazing and takes away signs of fatigue easily and effortlessly.

Fill, tame and color the brows with MAC Fluidline for Brows in Brunette and comb them into place with a Shiseido Brow comb. Prime the lids with LORAC Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow primer.

Add some more of Guerlain Eyeshadow Primer to let the eyeshadows adhere better and nicely. I apply this primer with an Estee Lauder Flat Concealer brush and blend it towards the brow bone.

Trace the upper lash line and the inner corners with Clinique Quick liner Intense in Intense Ebony. Begin with a thin line that tapers to become thicker on the outer corners.

Blend the eye pencil with a dome shaped small eyeshadow brush like Chanel no.19 and apply some on the outer corners and in the crease as an extra primer for the darker eyeshadows. Re-trace the line with Intense Ebony to maintain the darkness.

I am using the Lancome Hypnose Star Eyeshadow Palette in Gris Fume. Take the Shade no.01 on a pencil shadow brush and apply it all over the blackness on the lid. Smoke it out gently on the lower lids to create a midnight haze.

Apply a 02 dark shimmery brown grey eyeshadow in the crease and blend it softly towards the brow bone with a MAC 217 brush. I love this shade and its perfect to add the required definition and intensity.

Apply a 03 shimmery silvery grey shimmer on the entire lid as a wash of color. I used a Christian Dior Medium Eyeshadow brush for this since it has a perfect paddle shape for creating a soft wash of color.

Highlight the brow bone with a light peachy beige shimmer 05. I loved the subtle yet magical iridescence and the simplicity of this shade.

Apply 04 Iridescent greyish silvery ivory shimmer on the centre of the lid and in the inner corners to create a 3 dimensional effect.

Trace the upper lash line with MAC Fluid line in Black Track and wing the liner out.

Curl the lashes with Charlotte Tilbury's Eye lash curler and apply lashings of Lancome's Hypnose Dolls Eyes mascara to create fluttery lashes.

To complete this look. I recommend a lovely peachy flush with Chanel's Blush Creme De Chanel in Presage. Set it with the compact powder. On it, I dusted Guerlain Rose Aux Joues in Peach Boy. The blush shade is for the cheek bones and the highlighter shade is on the highlight points of the face. I chose a peach tone in the blush and lip color to contrast the silvery grey tones on the eyes and make it all look extremely wearable. The lips are drenched in YSL Glossy Stain no.06 for a nude peach look. For a bolder lip, you could opt for MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger and you're ready to make a statement.

This is an amazing and pretty mesmerizing evening makeup look. Hope you loved it. Do let me know in the comments.

Thanks a lot.
